Perfect Rainy Day

While searching for cover art, I remembered my daughter Hanna had crayoned a rainy day house a couple years earlier, during her “House Period,” when she drew nothing but houses. This was a particular favorite of mine, because when I asked her about the orange things coming out of the houses, she informed me they were “nets to catch the rain.”

With the title track from the CD being “Perfect Rainy Day,” I thought this art was fitting, given the song is about a father leaving his wife and children. I think this drawing accurately reflects all that one stands to lose when running from life’s rainy days. Because I believe, even some of our toughest times can be our “perfect rainy days.”
